San Sebastián “La Luminaria” Festival
Plaza de la Constitución, El Boalo.
January 20.
From January 16 to 20 the San Sebastián Festivals are held for our patron saint of El Boalo. It is the most solemn and rooted festival of the town. The celebration on January 20 probably comes from the celebration of the end of the pig slaughtering period. Pig slaughters are still carried out by the locals every year and the traditional festivals let us participate in the production of different products obtained from the pig.
Besides the morning parade, a campfire is lit at night, La Luminaria, and hot chocolate is served to all those attending the celebration. alongside anise and typical pork rind cakes keep you going all through the night.
